A couple of years ago, H&M stores did a massive refurb in their Westfield white city store. The style on offer wasn’t to my liking, I rarely shop with them. The Missus however is a regular there and she shops for our boy who was two at the time at the store as well – the jogger bottoms fit him so well. I found myself going in there regularly to re-stock for him when he outgrew his current selection. Thing is, I walked past PLEAT for 2 years solid without bothering to stop – I was spoilt for choice when it came to cafes within Westfield so you will forgive this oversight.
I went in a few weeks ago and I promise you they serve the most decadent coffee based drinks I have ever tasted. Even a mundane drink like hot chocolates (my boy’s favourite hot drink) was a taste above. Highly recommend it. The London evening standard reviewed the joint and writes…
“Located on the first floor of the H&M store in Westfield White City, It’s Pleat, is a 2400 square foot leafy oasis that serves healthy breakfasts, lunches and treats throughout store opening hours. The café is H&M’s first in-store café in the UK, and their fourth globally (the first was launched in Stockholm last year). With green velvet, palms and pretty metal fixtures, it’s all kinds of ‘grammable too.
The menu is described as “health-ish,” meaning there are plenty of salads (a particular highlight is the Kimchy Whimsy Salad (£4.50), which comes with sesame roasted mushrooms, black rice with black beans, kale & cabbage, butternut squash, beetroot-pickled swede, kimchi) in addition to cakes and sweet treats.”
Prices start at £2 for an organic and fair trade americano coffee, £2.50 for an organic cold pressed juice, and £4.50 for a small organic salad.
Next time you are in London, you are well advised to pay them a visit, you won’t regret it.
